EA SPORTS is bringing back their College Football franchise, so here’s everything you need to know about the return of this fan-favorite series.

EA SPORTS’ last iteration of its fan-favorite college football series was all the way back in 2014. The game, titled NCAA Football ’14, marked the end of the franchise after multiple lawsuits were filed over athlete likeness, which resulted in a massive payout to players featured.

But, now almost 10 years later, we’re on the verge of finally getting another installment of the iconic sports franchise.

EA SPORTS College Football release date

According to a report first released by Brandon Marcello with 247 Sports, the developer is attempting to release EA SPORTS College Football in the Summer of 2023. “That’s the hope,” according to Cory Moss, CEO of Collegiate Licensing Co.

This coincides with another report back in June of 2021 from Matt Brown with Extra Points, who obtained a leaked document that outlined a July 2023 release with a four-year license proposal.

What platforms will it be released on?

While there has to be an official announcement from the developers, we expect that the game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Other titles under the developer’s umbrella such as FIFA continue to release on last-gen platforms, but this could change with the new direction intended for the franchise.

Official gameplay footage of the new installment is under wraps but according to Extra Points’ Matt Brown, players can expect a refreshed approach from the devs. Brown claims that a revamped version of Ultimate Team will appear in the game, while the fan-favorite Dynasty mode will make its return too.

The devs are reportedly in the process of collecting key musical assets such as chants, band performances, and stadium atmosphere too. While the previous entry encountered issues with player likenesses, Brown’s report alleges that EA is hoping to resolve this as a new era approaches.
