Revenant Reborn in Apex Legends: New abilities and rework revealed for Season 18

Apex Legends is getting a brand new version of Revenant, known as Revenant Reborn, with a whole new set of abilities in Season 18. Here’s what we know so far.

Given that Apex Legends is tied in with the Titanfall universe through different guns, references to planets, and military squads, there’s always been hope from some fans that a few abilities from the Titanfall games would make an appearance. 

Respawn have, time and time again, shut down calls for Titans to make an appearance. While we’re not getting that, Revenant’s wall-climbing abilities are about to get a whole lot better.

Revenant Reborn has now officially been confirmed by Respawn, coming in Season 18. Here’s his new abilities and more.

What is Revenant Reborn in Apex Legends?

Leakers have been claiming that Respawn was set to release this new reworked version of Revenant for some time, and they have been proved correct.

Revealed on July 31, Respawn confirmed that the new version will release with Season 18, on August 8.

Not only will his appearance change, but so too will his abilities. “A shattered mind fills Revenant with even more rage, bringing him a killer new look and deadly new abilities.”

Revenant will be unlocked for all players in Season 18, and you can unlock him permanently by completing quests before the season ends.

Revenant Reborn abilities

The wall-running ability is supposed to be the character’s passive, with rumors about the tactical ranging from a Sling Shot ability to teleport, and a forcefield that pushes enemies away. 

The ultimate is unclear, but rumored to make his totem a sort of healing station, that restore health and armor.

When will Revenant Reborn release in Apex Legends?

All three of Revenant’s abilities are changing in Season 18, with Revenant Reborn:

• Passive – Assassin’s Instict: Wall climb improved for more horizontal movement. Revenant is also able to see nearby enemies that are low on health, and if Revenant gets them low himself, he marks the enemy position for his team
• Tactical – Shadow Pounce: Unleash a powerful leap forward that closes the gap between Revenant and his prey, reach height on a wall, or to simply reposition. You can hold it to ‘charge’ the leap and go even farther.
• Ultimate – Forged Shadows: Creates a shroud of shadows around him that prevents direct incoming damage (eg bullets, explosives, melee), but not ring or caustic gas/fire. His hitbox is enlarged making him a bigger target. Shadows recharge slowly over time, but shooting him will reset the charge. Shadows recharge instantly if Revenant gets a knock.

Revenant Reborn will release on August 8, 2023, in Apex Legends. This is also the start date for Season 18.

Revenant Reborn will be available for all players to use, regardless of whether you had Revenant unlocked before or not.
