On of the most passionate evangelist of longevity and medicine of the future, De Magalhaes is Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool in England. His lab studies the aging process and how we can manipulate it to fend off age-related diseases and improve human health. He helps maintain several databases on aging - among them - GenAge, AnAge, DrugAge, CellAge, GenDR, the Digital Aging Atlas, and Who's Who in Gerontology. His research group helped sequence the transcriptome of the long-lived bowhead whale. He also helps advise the Lifeboat Foundation.
