Best Warzone 2 loadouts: Meta weapons and classes for Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, & Vondel

Warzone 2 best meta loadoutsActivison

Warzone 2 Season 5 is here, introducing a range of balance changes, long-awaited movement changes, and two new vehicles. If you want to score some victories in Season 5, we’re here to help with these best loadouts and current meta guns in Warzone 2.

The Season 5 update stabilized Warzone 2’s meta. A few weapons still obviously stand out above the rest of the pack, but plenty of previously forgotten guns can hold their own in long and short-range engagements.

A big reason for this is that the Cronen Squall and Lachmann Sub finally received nerfs. Despite seeing a hefty nerf, the Cronen Squall still holds strong in the game’s current meta. But, there may be a new king in town that we will highlight. And with the Lachmann Sub out of the way, there are plenty of question marks surrounding the best up close and personal weapon.

Thankfully, we’ve got you covered. Here are the best Warzone 2 loadouts to use to dominate Al Mazrah, Ashika Island & Vondel.

Best Warzone 2 meta loadouts and weapons, ranked

5. MCPR-300

MCPR-300 Warzone 2 loadoutActivison
The MCPR-300 is the best-in-class sniper in Warzone’s 2 current meta.

  • Muzzle: Nilsound 90 (-1.40, +0.77)
  • Laser: Corio LAZ-46 V3 (0.00, -21.39)
  • Optic: Forge Tac Delta 4 (-3.00, +0.75)
  • Ammunition: .300 Mag Explosive (+0.70, +9.00)
  • Magazine: 5 Round Mag

One-shot sniping took a backseat in Season 4, as battle rifles and LMGs offered a better long-range meta option. It’s time to pick back up the sniper rifle, as the MCPR-300 is lethal in Season 5.

Explosive ammunition isn’t as potent as it once was, but if you are able to manage its harsh bullet drop, sniper rifles dominate long-range engagements. The MCPR-300 is the definition of high risk-high reward weapon, and it takes a lot of skill and patience to harness it’s potential.

4. Cronen Squall

The Cronen Squall battle rifle as seen in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.Activision
The Cronen Squall returns to the meta offering a top-tier option in both full-auto and semi-auto modes.

  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40 (+0.39, +0.26)
  • Barrel: HR6.8 Barrel (+0.34, +0.10)
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4 (+1.06, -1.65)
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 (+0.65, +0.31)
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

Season 5 finally knocked the Cronen Squall down a peg, as it saw its maximum damage, upper and lower torso damage multiplier, and limb damage multipliers decrease. However, an increase to its minimum damage did just enough to keep the battle rifle in our top five rankings.

In addition to its fairly low recoil and impressive damage output, the Cronen Squall is also one of the very few guns in Warzone that excels in both full-auto and semi-auto. This makes it uniquely versatile and the perfect primary for players who want something that works in all situations.

3. ISO 45

ISO 45 in WarzoneActivision

  • Muzzle: Lacerta Compensator (+0.49, -0.19)
  • Barrel: 7″ EX Raptor-V2 (+0.39, -0.22)
  • Optic: Slimline Pro (-1.84, -2.25)
  • Stock: Demo Fade Tac (-1.94, -1.16)
  • Magazine: 45 Round Drum

After a substantial nerf to the Lachmann Sub, some players still believe the ISO 45 is Warzone 2’s best SMG. But we believe the VEL 46 slightly edges it out in close-range engagements, but we won’t know for sure until True Game Data and reveal full Season 5 TTK numbers.

Our loadout emphasizes mobility, speed, and dominating gunfights within 15 meters.

2. VEL 46

The VEL-46 was buffed in Warzone 2’s Season 5 patch.

  • Muzzle: Lacerta Compensator (+0.80, +0.35)
  • Barrel: Lach-165 Zulu (-0.50, +0.40)
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mW (-0.50, -51.00)
  • Magazine: 50 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: ZLR Combat Grip (+1.00, -0.45)

The VEL-46 saw its neck, upper, and lower torso multipliers increase in Season 5. Those changes did enough to elevate the fast-firing SMG to the best short-range option in Warzone 2. This game’s rendition of the MP7 works well as both a close-range SMG for aggressive play and as a sniper support to partner with your one-shot primary.

1. TAQ V

TAQ-V Battle Rifle Warzone 2Activision
The TAQ-V has a devastating mid-range TTK.

  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40 (+0.54, +0.19)
  • Barrel: 18″ Precision-6 Barrel (-0.42, +0.35)
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 (+0.52, +0.28)
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity (-0.43, -4.94)
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

Since its arrival in Season 3, the Cronen Squall has dominated Warzone 2 lobbies. After a series of nerfs in Seasons 4 and 5, the TAQ V has taken over. A devastating fast TTK and easy-to-control recoil set the reliable battle rifle apart.

We recommend replacing 7.62 High-Velocity ammunition with the Aim OP-V4 if you prefer using an optic.

What is the best gun in Warzone 2?

Out goes one battle rifle, and in comes another. After the Season 5 update, we believe that The TAQ V is the best gun in Warzone 2. The battle royale sequel’s short-range meta is too up in the air to choose an SMG as the best weapon, but the TAQ V stands head and shoulder above other long-range weapons.

Admittedly, picking the best gun in Warzone 2 is extremely difficult as every weapon has its strengths in different situations. Also, your personal playstyle plays a big factor in what gun is best for you.

A lot of the time, preference and comfortability are more important than the meta, but nonetheless, there are a set of weapons in the current Warzone 2 meta that are strong in a wider range of situations than the alternatives.
